CLINICAS WESTMONT BETHEL: HEALTHCARE FOR ALL
In 2016, Hospital Westmont Bethel embarked on an expansion project to enhance its facilities and services. The architectural firm TORUS was commissioned to design this expansion, focusing on creating a modern, efficient, and patient-centered healthcare environment.
The expansion included the addition of a fourth level dedicated to administrative offices, as well as the enlargement of essential service areas such as the kitchen and laundry facilities. TORUS’s design emphasized functionality and patient comfort by incorporating abundant natural lighting and ventilation throughout the building.
Key features of the design include a dedicated outpatient clinical area with recuperation rooms on select floors, and a pharmacy located on the first level for convenient patient access. Central to the waiting areas is an inner atrium that floods the space with natural light and ensures optimal airflow, enhancing the overall healing environment. Clinic rooms are equipped with carefully designed privacy windows that provide both discretion and natural ventilation.
The ground floor accommodates efficient and accessible parking, thoughtfully integrated to facilitate patient and visitor convenience without compromising the facility’s urban presence.
Sustainable design principles were a cornerstone of the project, utilizing energy-efficient systems and locally sourced materials to minimize environmental impact. The expanded facilities are designed to accommodate advanced medical equipment and technology, ensuring that Hospital Westmont Bethel continues to deliver high-quality healthcare services to the community.
Through this collaboration with TORUS, Hospital Westmont Bethel is expanding its capacity and enhancing its service offerings, reinforcing its commitment to accessible, comprehensive, and environmentally conscious healthcare in Guatemala.
