869 RESIDENCE: AN URBAN OASIS - A REFUGE WITHIN DENSITY
Chief Architect Joaquin Roesch
Collaboration with TORUS
Urban Oasis reimagines residential living as a protected environment embedded within the metropolis. Conceived as a spatial and environmental filter, the project shields its inhabitants from pollution, noise, and urban intensity while remaining fully connected to the city. It is not an escape from the urban condition, but a transformation of it.
Rooted in the concepts of refuge and oasis, the architecture creates a pause within density — a place of restoration, balance, and clarity. Luxury is understood not as excess, but as experiential quality: air, light, silence, and spatial coherence carefully orchestrated to elevate daily life.
The project inverts the traditional colonial courtyard, shifting from a central patio to a protective perimeter garden that embraces the building. This green edge filters the exterior, regulates microclimate, and establishes a calm interior world articulated through gradients of public, semi-public, and private space.
Environmental performance is embedded within the architectural logic through integrated solar systems, responsible water management, and wastewater reuse strategies. Form and function operate in harmony, aligning technical rigor with spatial experience.
Urban Oasis proposes a new model for contemporary living — where architecture becomes both sanctuary and infrastructure, redefining how the city can be inhabited.
