REIMAGINING AQUACULTURE LEADERSHIP: A BOLD WORKSPACE FOR INNOVATION AND LEGACY
TORUS was commissioned to reimagine the central office space of Acuamaya, one of the leading shrimp aquaculture companies in Central America. The redesign focused on enhancing the operational efficiency and functionality of the existing layout. By reorganizing the spatial flow, TORUS created a clear division between public-facing and executive areas, allowing the company’s dynamic team to work with greater clarity and purpose.
The new spatial strategy introduces a centralized reception area designed to streamline operational procedures and visitor flow. Adjacent to this, private executive offices, a fully equipped meeting room, a contemporary kitchen, and open collaborative workstations were developed to support the company’s evolving needs. Each space was carefully articulated to reflect Acuamaya’s culture of innovation, technical rigor, and global reach.
Simultaneously, TORUS developed a tailored environmental branding strategy to animate the interior walls. These graphic interventions narrate Acuamaya’s remarkable journey—from its origins in salt extraction to becoming a pioneering force in shrimp aquaculture—while showcasing its international presence and the accolades earned over four decades of growth.
The result is a modern, efficient, and inspiring workplace that echoes Acuamaya’s values: sustainability, excellence, and innovation. Through this transformation, TORUS helped translate the company’s legacy and vision into a cohesive spatial and visual language—supporting its continued leadership in the global seafood industry.
